Closet Organ Launch Party
Last night a bunch of you lovely people came down to the 13th Note for our album launch party. In many ways, it was a sort of homecoming: returning to one of the first venues we ever played in Glasgow, to a crowd including folk who we met around ten years ago whilst making music, with support from a band from the same era – the fantastic Ex Wives. To paraphrase what one person said:
It’s like a 2006 reunion in here. Ten years on, having had varying degrees of musical success, it all comes back to the Note.
For us though, it felt like a new beginning. Rather than going back to square one, it felt like the launching of a new journey; as if we’ve finally become the band that we always should have been.
Now that the smoke has cleared and chunks of guitar have stopped flying; through the haze of the hangover all that is left is a profound and genuine feeling of humble appreciation for everybody who supported us – either through throwing cold, hard-earned cash at our Kickstarter, giving us lifts to and from various venues, buying the album, or turning up at the gig last night – so thank you. As for the rest of you… you’re dead to us.
To say thanks, if you use the code ‘organfailure’ during checkout at http://closetorgan.bandcamp.com, you’ll get 25% off of any order of the album for the next 24 hours.
Thanks to Jeffels for the pictures!
